FTSEurofirst celebrates launch of landmark issue

Index company FTSEurofirst - a partnership of the Euronext exchange and index provider FTSE - last month celebrated the launch of 25 investment products based on its flagship FTSEurofirst 80 offering.

FTSEurofirst says that of the 25 products that were tied to the index during 2006, some 20 were structured retail products and five were listed products (including structured funds, certificates and turbos).

Behind the headlines, however, another interesting story emerges. Only 10 of the products
