CRD IV proposals do not deviate markedly from Basel III, says EC's Faull

A senior European Commission (EC) official has dismissed suggestions the draft text of the fourth Capital Requirements Directive (CRD IV) is materially different from Basel III – despite certain discrepancies critics have claimed will lead to an uneven application of the rules across jurisdictions.
