
Basel Committee convenes for crunch mid-year meeting

Senior regulators and central bankers are gathering in Basel today for a high-stakes meeting of the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision that should determine the future direction of its proposed reforms on capital, liquidity and leverage.
Following a four-month consultation and quantitative impact study (QIS) that concluded in April, the Committee is under intense pressure from the industry to reconsider the more controversial elements of its proposals, particularly the net stable funding
