Kuwaiti banks most prepared in Middle East for Basel II

Faisal Ayoub stated in a forum organised by the Institute of Banking Studies that Kuwaiti banks have already started initial preparations of Basel II. Local banks are currently implementing Basel II in line with instructions relayed from the Central Bank of Kuwait (CBK).

The CBK is co-ordinating with the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision, following up the implementation phases, the capital criteria and discussing new criteria with local banks. The central bank asserts that implementation is
