CME targets credit derivatives market

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange plans to launch credit derivatives products early next year, with a view to capturing a share of a market that has largely been the preserve of over-the-counter dealers.

Duke names spin-off

Duke Energy has announced that its existing natural gas business will be called Spectra Energy Corp when the operation becomes a stand-alone, publicly traded company, targeted for Jan. 1, 2007.

New global forex head for Standard Chartered

Richard Leighton has been appointed global head of foreign exchange at Standard Chartered in London, in an internal move. His previous position was head of forex options, which will be incorporated into his new role.
