Resilience refers to a wide spectrum of things and has layers, says Alain Bejjani, chief executive at Majid Al Futtaim. In this video interview, he discusses how crisis mode is a continuum that comes at a cost of efficiency, effectiveness and growth.

Previous crises did not prepare anyone for what took place in the recent Covid-19 pandemic. Bejjani says the main aspect of resilience is that you’re never prepared. “You only know you are resilient when faced with tough times or when in a battle.”

The biggest lesson he learned from the pandemic is that resilience matters. What matters is how you can continue to be in business and keep resilience ahead of efficiency.
