Signina applies the cutting edge

Basel-based Signina Capital, a specialist structured asset management company, is hoping to provide its high-net-worth clients with access to cutting-edge techniques this year. Portable alpha strategies, volatility plays, hedge fund replication and CPDOs are all on the agenda, says the firm's founder

Last year, Viktor Walker, a former senior executive from the equity and fund derivatives houses of Merrill Lynch and UBS, founded Swiss asset management company Signina Capital. Walker's idea was to provide high-net-worth (HNW) investors with access to the cutting-edge financial techniques that are usually the preserve of institutional investors. And he now thinks that the opportunities for his firm's investors will be even more wide ranging than it was in 2006.
