Fixed-income ETF market to hit $2tn within a decade, says iShares

iShares makes a bold prediction for the decade ahead as inflows into fixed-income exchange-traded funds increase, but others are less optimistic


Exchange-traded fund (ETF) industry professionals have not stopped talking about the fixed-income boom since the start of the year, and now iShares has predicted that the global ETF market for this asset class is likely to grow to more than $2 trillion in assets over the next decade.

Although the size of the fixed-income ETF market currently stands at just $302 billion in assets under management (AUM), iShares expects this to increase nearly sevenfold over the next decade, according to research
