Irish regulator consults on ETFs

The Irish financial regulator is seeking feedback from the structured products industry over its review of the eligibility of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) as investments under the Undertakings for Collective Investments in Transferable Securities III directive (Ucits).


In Ireland, investment in ETFs is classified as an investment in a collective investment scheme (CIS), meaning that up to 20% of a fund can be invested in a single ETF. Classifying them as transferable securities would reduce this
