Lyxor AM launches first ETF on Gulf region

Lyxor Asset Management, the exchange-traded fund (ETF) arm of Société Générale, has launched the first ETF focusing on Kuwait in collaboration with Coast Investment and Development Company, on the London Stock Exchange.

The Lyxor ETF Kuwait, which is also the first ETF to focus solely on the Middle East, tracks the FTSE Coast Kuwait 40 index, which is calculated by FTSE on behalf of Coast Investment and Development Company. The index constituents are selected according to free-float market capitalisation and liquidity, with the three main sector constituents comprising banking (32%), IT and telecoms (22%) and investments (17%).

Coast Investment and Development is a financial institution in Kuwait and the Middle East region, which operates investment management activities including private equity, asset management and real estate.
