Basel IV, capital and liquidity requirements
About the course
Despite being over fifteen years out from the event that resulted in the created of Basel IV, implementation timelines are uncertain and the implications of these reforms remain a challenge for many institutions. This course examines the impact and implications of the reform on how banks measure risk, calculate capital requires and assess profitability while navigating implementation challenges and regulatory uncertainty.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the enhanced capital framework, including revised definitions of regulatory capital, and explore how the updated standardised approach and constraints on internal models may affect lending activities and risk-weighted asset calculations.
Sessions will address the shift towards greater accountability at the trading desk level and the need for more consistent and comparable capital outcomes across organisations.
Participants will the discuss impact of global implementation differences on international organisations and gain tools to support their organisation as it adapts to the new regulatory landscape.
