APX Group– formerly known as the Amsterdam Power Exchange – plans to launch a natural gas exchange for the Zeebrugge hub in January 2005in conjunction with Huberator, a subsidiary of Fluxys, the Belgian gas transmissionoperator. The European Energy Derivatives Exchange (Endex), meanwhile, will provideclearing services. But while some have welcomed the news, others in the marketremain unconvinced of the need for an exchange at the hub.

For the time being, Zeebrugge is the most heavily traded hub
