PAS 56 to be formalised in UK


According to a BSI spokesperson, "the emergence of PAS 56 was the first step in the process towards developing a standard for BCM following a number of drivers demanding a consistent approach to this hot topic".

"As it currently stands, the guidelines set out in PAS 56 continue to point organisations in the right direction with regard to their business continuity programmes but its status is that of an informal standard." However, that is now set to change.
