Civil Contingencies Act consultation launched -- The public consultation on the UK’s Civil Contingencies Act’s implementing regulations and guidance was launched by the Cabinet Office in early December. Also up for consultation is draft guidance for response and recovery from emergencies, which would replace the existing Dealing with Disaster handbook.

The Civil Contingencies Act of 2004 repeals both the Emergency Powers Act of 1920 and the Civil Defence Act of 1948. It was published in June 2003
