Other stock exchanges can use the rules, first proposed by the two self-regulatory organisations (SROs), to require their members to develop BCPs. The Boston Stock Exchange, for example, said: "As part of the National Market System, we will be using the SEC BCP rules."

But the American Exchange (AMEX), the Philadelphia Stock Exchange (PHLX), and the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) would not use the SEC rules as they were jointly developing their own, the PHLX said. Other exchanges
