UBS goes SQL: Union Bank of Switzerland has upgraded its version of Sungard Capital Markets' Devon Derivatives System, according to bank officials.

UBS is has now installed a newer version of Devon that relies on an SQL-based Sybase database to store its trades. The previous version of Devon used a proprietary data format (Derivatives Engineering & Technology, September 2).
