Nomura Integrates Trading Operations With Hoodini

Nomura International is entering the application development phase of an ambitious Europe-wide front, middle and back office software project dubbed Hoodini.

According to Nomura officials, Hoodini combines elements of both object-oriented and relational database technology.

The bank is scheduled to begin installation of ObjectStore 4.0 - an object database developed and marketed by Massachusetts-based Object Design - in mid-1996, to serve as Hoodini's cache manager.
