FfastFill and Trading Technologies partner on X Trader

FfastFill, based in London and Chicago, already provides a multi-asset class global order book, exchange connectivity and other middle-office software. TT's X Trader front screen includes the company's patented MD Trader software.

MD Trader was the subject of a patent infringement lawsuit launched by TT against Ffastfill earlier this week. TT claimed that FfastFill had infringed its patent on MD Trader. FfastFill announced yesterday that it had reached a settlement with TT - the details were not disclosed, but Ffastfill said it would have "no material financial impact on the company".

After MD Trader was patented in the US, TT settled two patent infringement suits with Chicago brokers, Kingstree Trading and Goldenberg, Hehmeyer & Co; a third, with eSpeed, is still awaiting litigation. Orc Software, EasyScreen and Patsystems are also seen as potential targets for lawsuits in the future, as all have developed software similar to MD Trader.
