Totem acquires dividend forecasting service

Over-the-counter derivatives price data vendor Totem has acquired Dividend Directory Limited (DDL), the owner of DaDD, a service forecasting dividend and ex-dividend dates up to four years in advance. This information is an important input to equity derivatives pricing models.

DDL also sells information on the composition of global equity indexes.

John Price, the founder of DDL, will continue as a managing director at the firm and will join Totem's board.

The acquisition doubles Totem's staff from 15 to 30. The combined enterprises will remain based in London.

The acquisition price was undisclosed.
