Westpac buys new risk management software

Australian bank Westpac has licensed SunGard’s Credient, part of its Adaptiv credit risk infrastructure.

SunGard said Credient provides a central store of credit information to monitor global exposures against credit limits, and manage exceptions on a real-time basis.

As a fully automated system it minimises operational risk while reducing operating costs, SunGard said. It also provides pre-deal limit checking and ‘what-if’ scenario analysis. The system sends immediate notifications to credit officers in the event of a credit policy violation, SunGard added.
