BarCap adds sterling swaps to online interest rate swaps platform

"The addition of sterling swaps is in response to counterparty feedback, in particular from UK-based financial institutions and fund managers," said Jerry del Missier, managing director and head of rates at BarCap.

Barx, a real-time electronic trading platform hosted by Bloomberg, was launched in July 2003 to allow BarCap’s clients to trade euro-denominated swaps.

Dollar swaps will be added within the next six months, BarCap said.
