Fame extends data coverage of North American gas and power markets

The indexes represent the volume-weighted average price of confirmed trades executed on the Ice trading platform. Fame said as the indexes are derived directly from transactions on Ice, errors, double accounting, confidentiality and liability concerns are mitigated.

“Increasingly, there is a need for transparency in the North American power and gas markets,” said Emma Garvey, New York-based Fame’s energy data product manager. “The addition of Ice North American gas and power indexes fulfils this need, and provides tremendous breadth and depth of coverage. In addition, the Ice indexes will provide our clients with a valuable price hedging instrument.”
