The Federal Reserve Bank of New York has formed a taskforce dedicated to combating cyber threats to financial entities, citing it as the risk most likely to cause the next financial crisis, a senior supervisor from the regulator announced on March 24 – only to see cyber threats immediately dismissed as “a distraction” by a respected operational risk veteran.
