Cyber crime is one of today's biggest operational risks. Namechecked in numerous risk hit lists for 2015, including the World Economic Forum's top 10 global threats, it is also one that few financial firms, with their wealth of personal data, can afford to ignore.

While robust security controls are vital to ward off cyber crime, its constantly evolving nature means that designing effective barriers against all types of possible intrusions is next to impossible.
