Sants quits Barclays after just 10 months in compliance role

Hector Sants has quit Barclays after just 10 months with the troubled UK-headquartered bank. Sants, who took up the role of head of compliance and government regulatory relations in January 2013, has been on sick leave from Barclays since the beginning of October, said to be suffering from stress and exhaustion.

The bank announced yesterday that Sants has concluded that he will not be able to return to work in the near term and as such has decided to resign from Barclays.
