CFTC charges Corzine for MF Global collapse

MF Global and its former chief executive Jon Corzine have been charged with unlawful misuse of nearly $1 billion dollars of customer funds.

The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has imposed a $100 million penalty on the collapsed broking firm and ordered 100% restitution of all remaining commodity customer claims, subject to court approval.

Alongside Corzine, MF Global's former assistant treasurer, Edith O'Brien, has been charged with aiding and abetting the firm's misuse of
