Fraud is a growing problem for financial institutions – not just banks, but insurers and others as well – at both ends of the severity scale. At the lower end, the constant stream of small-scale loan, claim and credit card fraud represents a monthly drain on funds. At the upper end, a single incident on the scale of some recent rogue trading losses could bring down an entire division – or, conceivably, an entire bank.
