Final Fatca regulations must provide clarity, experts warn

Final Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (Fatca) regulations due to be released later this month must provide clarity on outstanding issues surrounding the controversial US tax law, experts warn.

As foreign financial institutions (FFIs) brace themselves for the delayed final regulations, experts say greater clarity must be given for the industry to understand various administrative points of Fatca. These points have remained unclear since the draft regulations were released in February 2012.
