Amir-Mokri appointed to US Treasury

Cyrus Amir-Mokri has been appointed as assistant secretary for financial institutions at the US Department of the Treasury, after confirmation from the US Senate on October 31.

Amir-Mokri was nominated for the role by US President Barack Obama in September.

He will be responsible for the development and co-ordination of the Treasury's policies on issues affecting financial institutions. As there is no acting undersecretary for domestic finance, he will report directly to deputy Treasury
