
OpRisk Europe: Fairness fights fraud, conference told

Fair and open infrastructures are the best protection against internal fraud, psychologist Adrian Furnham told the OpRisk Europe conference in London on June 9. Furnham, a professor of psychology at University College London, explained: "Fraud is caused by dysfunctional organisations. One of the issues is management policies and the way in which they're introduced." This can lead to embitterment, which is often a contributing factor to fraud, he said.
