OpRisk Europe: Business continuity must be "reloaded"

Volksbank op risk head says many continuity plans do not reflect lessons from the financial crisis

Business continuity strategies must take into account a wider range of scenarios to be truly effective in a crisis, according to Wolfgang Hutter, head of operational risk at Volksbank Vienna.

Speaking at the OpRisk Europe conference in London today, Hutter argued that business continuity must be "reloaded", and that complacency over plans already in place could prove dangerous for institutions.
