OpRisk Europe: clear risk lines vital, Wymeersch says


Independent risk management functions are vital for financial companies, warned Eddy Wymeersch, chair of the European Corporate Governance Institute, at the OpRisk Europe conference in London today. "These days, there is wide agreement that risk has to be structured," said Wymeersch. "That means we have to look at risk on two levels: at board level there has to be a specialised committee dealing with risk and there has to be a chief risk officer (CRO)."
