This month’s top five losses were once again concentrated in the ‘Clients, products and business practices’ category, but external frauds contributed to the top five losses for the first time since November 2010. Like last month, April’s cumulative gross loss was much lower than those in the final months of 2010 and the beginning of 2011.

April’s losses were diverse, with the retail brokerage, trading and sales, retail banking, and commercial banking
