Elcock appointed chief risk officer at Coventry Building Society

Peter Elcock has been appointed chief risk officer of Coventry Building Society. The newly created role will see Elcock take responsibility for the company's credit risk, treasury and liquidity risk, operational risk and compliance functions. He will be working under chief executive David Stewart.

Elcock has been in the financial industry for more than 25 years. He spent much of his career at Barclays, where he held a variety of senior management positions, including head of corporate risk
