Ex-RBS banker faces industry ban

LONDON – The former head of global banking and markets at Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), Johnny Cameron, might be prevented from working in financial services by the UK Financial Services Authority (FSA).

As a result of an investigation started by the regulator in April 2009, he could be banned for life from taking any role of significant influence at a financial body after the UK government bailout of RBS in 2008.

Cameron presided over the acquisition of ABN Amro by RBS in 2008, a move that
