A few loose ends

Modelling - a retrospective

A good retrospective has a beginning, a middle and an end. The rough edges of history's arc are rubbed smooth and burnished, giving the whole thing a neat sheen. The story of operational risk modelling isn't like that. Instead, there's a beginning, a long, meandering middle, and more loose ends than a plate of spaghetti. Opinions differ on the progress made. Some of those who were involved in the early days say op risk modelling has run aground. Others see genuine progress and a bright future
