Coso releases new consultation paper on monitoring internal controls
WASHINGTON DC - The Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (Coso) last month released a discussion document offering new guidance to organisations on monitoring the quality of their internal controls.
The document, Guidance on Monitoring Internal Control Systems, seeks to reinforce the guidelines first outlined in the 1992 Coso Framework and the 2006 Coso Guidance. Much of the discussion paper is simply a reworking of the earlier documents, but the new document focuses particularly on monitoring.
