SEC further postpones Section 404 compliance

WASHINGTON, DC - The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has once again extended compliance dates for implementation of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act , which requires management to include in its annual reports management statements on the company's internal control over financial reporting and an accompanying auditor's report.

The non-accelerated filers and foreign private issuers, who were originally supposed to adopt the requirement for fiscal year ending on or after July 15, 2005, have been allowed a one-year extension, and must now comply with the requirements for their fiscal year ending on or after July 15, 2006.
