Op risk insurance thinking hots up

Nice -- Thinking on op risk insurance is continuing to advance, as the topic continues to be a hot one among industry practitioners since the inclusion of a capital charge deduction for operational risk insurance in Basel II (see page 18 for update on text in final document).

To begin with, observers have been keenly watching the evolution of Aon’s operational risk insurance products, which include a loss database and a capital calculation model called Operational Risk Insurance Loss Distribution Approach (Orilda). The database and calculation tool are being beta tested by several clients, according to Lori Marin, managing director, operational risks at Aon Risk
