PRMIA unveils interim board

The nascent Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA), set up by a raft of disgruntled former Global Association of Risk Professionals' (Garp) ex-regional heads, has appointed an interim board.

The interim board was unanimously elected by PRMIA’s regional director and includes: Darren Langar, regional director for Australia; Phang Hong Lim, regional director for Singapore; Geoff Kates, regional director for London; Soren Plesner, regional director for Denmark; Alexander Shipilov, regional director for Spain; John Broussard, regional director for Philadelphia; Jean-Martin Aussant, regional director for Montreal; Nawal Roy, a former Garp advisory board member; and David Koenig, regional director for Chicago and Minneapolis.

The board will oversee PRMIA’s incorporation and the establishment of a set of bye-laws. It will also move rapidly to set up elections by PRMIA members to create a permanent board of directors.

PRMIA has also set up a number of subcommittees in addition its already disclosed ethics committee, led by Broussard. New committees focus on education and certification - to develop a PRMIA version of the Garp financial risk manager exam - elections and regional director/chapter support, and standards.
