Another month, another delay to Solvency II. This time the focus is the date by which member states must transpose the directive into national law. The European Commission is looking to postpone the transposition date by six months to June 30, 2013 as a result of the slow progress in finalising the Omnibus II Directive.

Karel van Hulle, the man leading the commission’s work on Solvency II, insists, however, that the date on which the regime is set to become effective, January 1, 2014, will not
