EC argument for ‘bigger and better’ Iorp directive misguided - NAPF

Solvency II is the wrong starting point for new occupational pension directive, says James Walsh


The European Commission (EC) has failed to make its case for a revised Institutions for Occupational Retirement Provision (Iorp) directive and planned changes should be abandoned, the National Association of Pension Funds (NAPF) says.

The occupational pensions lobby group also said Solvency II was the wrong starting point for the  Iorp directive and its use would severely damage defined benefit provision in the UK.
