Partisan brief won't affect position limits lawsuit, says former CFTC chair

An amicus brief filed by House Democrats last month will have little impact on a US court’s judgement over the legality of federal position limits imposed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), according to a former chairman of the agency.

The brief was submitted in response to a lawsuit filed in the US District Court for the District of Columbia on December 2 last year by the International Swaps and Derivatives Association and the Securities Industry and Financial Markets
