The websites of financial regulators are usually full of legal jargon that can confuse even the most seasoned finance professional. So when I visited the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) website last month, I was pleasantly surprised to see a directory of investor comments written in plain English (a favourite phrase of regulators but one which few adhere to themselves).
