In mid-June the European Commission launched a call for evidence on transparency in bond and non-equity markets. The evidence will be used to determine whether mandatory pre- and post-trade transparency should be introduced throughout the European Union (EU) for bonds and other instruments. Equities are not included in the scope of the consultation. The EC will use evidence submitted to create a draft report that will undergo a public consultation in July 2007. Firms are
