Major energy users bemoan lack of UK suppliers

The diminishing number of power suppliers in the UK and the likely takeover or merger of those that remain are key issues which UK government should address, according to the Major Energy Users' Council (MEUC), the UK's largest utility users' network and lobby.

Speaking after the UK's Energy Review, director general Andrew Bainbridge said: "There is no real competition in the market now. Suppliers' prices are almost identical and many large customers are re-negotiating their existing contracts
