Bank Of England Unveils Proposals For Risk-Based Bank Supervision

THE Bank of England (BoE) has unveiled draft proposals to significantly beef up its surveillance of internal risk procedures at UK-based banks.

The BoE outlined its new approach in a 36-page study, entitled A Risk Based Approach to Supervision, released at the end of last month.

At least one industry observer has criticized the proposals, arguing that they are too invasive and hands-on in their approach to regulation.
