BBA Launches Loss Database, 22 Banks Sign Up

The British Bankers’ Association project to gather data on operational losses at banks went live in the first week of July with 22 members.

The project offers member banks a way to bring together and circulate confidential data on the operational losses that they have suffered.

The BBA says it has given the project the provisional title of the Global Operational Loss Database, or GOLD, and that the members so far are mostly large institutions in Europe, Canada and Australia.
