Basle Committee Releases Report Into Interest Rate Risk Management

THE Basle Committee on Banking Supervision last week released its latest proposals on principles for managing interest rate risk. The Committee is now looking for comment from the financial community on its draft guidelines.

The new report will lead to an increased emphasis on training within risk management departments, says Tim Scala, chief executive of Treasury Resources Consulting and Investigating, the New York-based financial consultancy house specializing in operational risk management
