Lehman Brothers hires Singapore Branch GM

Lehman Brothers has hired Catherine Loh as a senior vice-president and general manager of its Singapore branch, effective next Monday.

Reporting to Kirk Sweeney, managing director and head of fixed-income sales, Asia excluding Japan, Loh will be responsible for all capital markets activities, particularly sales activities for fixed-income products including derivatives. She will also act as a senior calling officer for the bank in Singapore and surrounding markets, such as Malaysia, the Philippines and Indonesia.

Loh joins Lehman Brothers after nine years at Goldman Sachs in Singapore, where she was most recently head of the Southeast Asia central bank sales team. Prior to that, Loh worked in equity sales at brokerage firm BZW-Pacific Union, and as an investment officer at the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

Loh replaces Tom Picard, who has relocated to New York but will remain in the fixed-income division of the bank.
